As a general rule I prefer my walls to be empty. My various dorm rooms and apartments could all be described (and often were) as “barren” or “sterile” because their various decors seemed more fitting of an operating room than a living space. A few years ago, in a half-hearted effort to address these complaints, I bought some artwork at a cruise ship auction. The prints were shipped to my parents’ house and there they remained, undisturbed in their original shipping tube ever since.

As I have just moved into a new apartment this seemed like a fitting opportunity to dig the paintings out of storage. I had the tube re-shipped out to Vegas and then once arrived I took it straight to an art dealer to have the pieces framed. The dealer seemed highly competent, somehow identifying the artist from the briefest glimpse of one rolled-up corner. My faith in his eye place far beyond my own, I effectively just gave the man my price and told him to do what he thought best. One week later the framing is done, and the pieces are mounted.

.: note :.
I don’t know if it’s my camera, my hands, the lighting, or a combination of the three, but I have trouble taking decent pictures. Because the flash reflects off the glass I was forced to take all of these pictures from an angle. Is that how it is supposed to be done? If I don’t use a flash my camera’s pictures always come out very blurry.

See more pictures in my gallery.

I also framed a few animation cells and put them on my wall.
