I wonder if it's a rule (unwritten or otherwise) that to be a Project Manager you must be excessively peppy. I suppose only a few of you have experienced this first hand, but I'm sure all of you can relate. Every message passed between a PM and myself involves an uncomfortable level of exclamation points.
[10:54] Jason: the metatags package is on qa in wickerpark
[10:54] Julie: cool.
[10:55] Julie: I will have Mike W. take over from here and check it out!
[14:21] Jason: and did you say that those images were finished?
[14:23] Sarah: yes, already live on the site finished
[14:23] Sarah: so…well done!
[14:23] Jason: ?
[14:24] Sarah: !
Even when they are criticizing PMs tend to be unnecessarily upbeat. As though even in reprimand they must always take care to protect my apparantly fragile ego…
–>you changed the wrong 20. it should read: …
Anyway, this was really detailed and you did an awesome job! Thanks
It isn't annoying or anything, I just find it a little odd that every PM I know seems to act this way.
As a side note, do you ever realize there is something on your fingers and instinctively wipe it off on your pants, only to realize far too late that whatever it was has now left a huge stain on your pants? Dammit.
