Lukas sent me a link to this Jung-Meyers-Briggs personality test. Apparantly it is some famous test that everyone takes at some point. I think i took it in High School, right before i took the test that told me what career i would have. Since the latter said something about garbage man or janitor, I doubt I gave much credence to the former. Anyway, you should take it too I suppose. Then tell me who you are and what makes you cool.

It turns out that I am an INTP (Introverted Intuitive Thinking Percieving). It basically means that I have a very systematic and theoretical mind and can usually trust my gut feeling. I'd say that's fairly accurate. Actually, the descriptions they give of INTPs ring true in many cases.

“INTPs are pensive, analytical folks. They may venture so deeply into thought as to seem detached, and often actually are oblivious to the world around them.” – True and true. Though this often gets me in trouble while in conversation with people. Sometimes a comment you make will trigger a train of thought that I begin to focus on and ultimately get lost in. It is usually at that point when you say something along the lines of 'are you even listening to me'. I could lie, but what's the point?

“INTPs are relatively easy-going and amenable to most anything until their principles are violated, about which they may become outspoken and inflexible.” – Yeah, I'm cool with whatever you have to say… so long as it you aren't totally wrong. Once you start making up shit that I KNOW isnt true, we may have a problem. At that point, I will choose to either ignore you or call you out.

“Precise about their descriptions, INTPs will often correct others (or be sorely tempted to) if the shade of meaning is a bit off.” You see!! It is in my nature to point out where you have faulted. I hope you understand the terrible difficulty I must overcome to restrain my primal need to shout 'NO ASSHOLE!! You did WELL!!!' when you offhandedly remark how good you just did on your test.

“This fascination for logical wholes and their inner workings is often expressed in a detachment from the environment, a concentration where time is forgotten and extraneous stimuli are held at bay. Accomplishing a task or goal with this knowledge is secondary. ” Many times I just want to understand how or why something works. The causes and consequences of a bridge collapse really have no impact on my life, but sit me in front of Engineering Disasters on the discovery channel and you can go ahead and leave me alone for a few hours.

So anyway, that's me. Former people with similar mindsets include Socrates, Einstein, Pascal, and Newton. And also Rick Moranis. Pretty awesome company.
