Merry Christmas, friends. And while I’m at it, Happy New Year too.
For those precious few of you who still check this site on a semi-regular basis you can go ahead and put that ritual on hold for the next few weeks. In the morning I am getting on the first of three airplanes that will ultimately – hopefully – find me on the other side of the planet. I will be spending a week bouncing around Australia with my family before boarding a cruise ship and spending an additional two weeks hopping my way about New Zealand and a few of its southern Pacific island associates.
I assume “they” have Internet access there (otherwise why go to the trouble of making that wacky .au domain extension), but I can’t say with any certainty whether “I” will have much access. Expecting the worst I am simply going to rely on others to do the heavy lifting for me.
To that end I refer you to Altworld.net !!
My dad will be posting daily up-dates from down-under. This works out much better for everyone involved because:
1) I don’t have to do any work
2) My pops is a photography nut and his posts will come with pretty pictures (mine are typically only served with the thousand-word equivalent)
** Side note that is probably only funny to me **
While going over our trip’s itinerary my mom told us that we would be flying from Los Angeles to Australia. I asked if we would perhaps be taking Oceanic flight 815.
“No,” she answered flatly. “We are flying American.”
