I have been in Chicago/Libertyville for the past week which goes a long way as explanation for the lack of update. Anyways, there is probably a lot I could and should talk about, but at the moment I am just a little bit overwhelmed. It came to my attention that Metroid Prime 3 is coming out next week; a piece of news that struck me with surprising power. Corruption has always been a game on that distant, near-theoretical horizon of release dates of which you are vaguely aware but to which you give very little thought. But holy hell, next week?!

That got me thinking about other important upcoming releases, and before long the list was too rich to properly maintain within the simple confines of a human brain. So I wrote it down. Now bear in mind that while this list is really long, each of these titles is Must Buy so far as I’m concerned. It is possible that I am even forgetting a few (though IGN was a big help in limiting that possibility). Also take note that this list only extends until New Years. Don’t even get me started on Q1 08 titles.

Holy shit.

Seriously. I need to get back to the poker table quick if I want to be able to afford all of this. Not to mention that I am probably going to need to do some semi-substantial upgrading to my gaming rig if I hope to play some of these PC games (Bioshock and UT3 in particular).

.: Wii :.
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption – 8/27/07
My Sims – 9/18/07
Batallion Wars 2 – 10/29/07
Geometry Wars: Galaxies – 11/6/07
Super Mario Galaxy – 11/12/2007
Super Smash Bros Brawl – 12/3/07

.: PC :.
Bioshock – 8/21/07
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare – 11/5/07
Portal – 11/9/07
Unreal Tournament 3 – 11/12/07

.: DS :.
LoZ: The Phantom Hourglass – 11/1/07

.: 360 :.
Skate* – 9/11/07
Beautiful Katamari* – 11/15/07
Rock Band – 11/20/07

* On the low end of the Must Buy spectrum, though only because I don’t even technically own a 360 console.

Oh, and I’ve already bought but haven’t even begun to play Resident Evil 4 on the Wii.

2 people care

  1. i’m seriously tempted to buy an xbox360 for bioshock and gears of war… but realistically, there’s not much else to play on that system. i could probably invest in a better video card for my PC and play bioshock on the PC like you’re planning to do instead.

  2. Gears of War is really, really good, but it’s releasing on the PC pretty soon as well. For me the choice is mostly due to gametype, first-person shooters being way better control-wise on a PC. The obvious downside is that I will need a new vidcard.
