By any chance you didn't see a large oval shaped egg pod, about a foot in height, that opens up in kind of a cross in your apartment did you? You should probably check that out if so buddy.

god... I take that back. I feel like I am about to have a heart attack right now. It feels like my heart is about to pop inside my chest.

... any idea how long before a Xanax takes effect?

at the moment I am waiting for the stress test and then I believe we can move on from there. At this point though, I expect the stress test (still a week away) will show everything to be normal. I am feeling better and the random heart flurries are becoming much less frequent.

Sorry to hear about your health concerns, you deserve better. Your midnight vigils with Daryl were a mission of mercy I'll never forget. Your mother and I were beyond exhaustion from the see-saw feelings that came from not knowing for sure what was happening. Diagnosis is everything, as you are finding out again.
As to the sleep problem, it doesn't sound like the sleep apnea that plagued Dorsey. He had had those symptoms all of his life. The sleep study showed that he wakened every two minutes of sleep because his trachea closed. However, the difficulty with rem-sleep ultimately affected his heart the cardiologist thought. It is not uncommon for apnea patients to go into A-fib, again, not what you seem to be experiencing. Still, a sleep study might not be a bad idea. Lack of sleep can affect your heart, but heart problems can affect your sleep. Are they referring you to a cardiologist? Diagnosis IS EVERYTHING.

I believe they were checking my triglyceride levels when i took accutane, but yes, that stuff has some crazy side effects. i still have some fairly dry skin because of it (even tho i stopped taking it over 7 years ago)

My best guess is that this is all related to stress and the side effects of the accutane. There was a medical reason they recently told you to stop taking it. Something in your blood work showed something amiss - something that they watch for and why they do the blood work in the first place. Stress can clearly have physical manifestations, so the fact that the heart was beating irregularly when you weren't having a panic attack isn't inconsistent with that. I found some articles that talk about cardio side effects with accutane that may be on point. I'm glad they are waiting 2 weeks for the stress test. It gives you 2 weeks for the accutane to move out of your system and 2 weeks of a bit more sanity, notwithstanding the arrival of your brother. I also suggest you start keepng a log - when you have difficulty breathing, etc. and start recording the level of difficulty to try and see if there is any pattern or change. (This is intended to help and not cause more stress, so I am a bit reluctant to suggest it.) In any event, eat well and get some exercise. The quicker your life returns to normal, I hope the sooner you will feel better. Love you.

Whatever is going on, make sure you get a second opinion. We hope you get this out of the way and get back to your old self quickly. Be strong.
