Lukas ordered a bunch of poker books and they have been dominating our apartment for the past few days. Every day there are new boxes arriving with new books to read. Somewhere along the way Lukas lost a part of his brain and adopted Dan Harrinton as his personal hero. Of all the people in the top 12 of the 2003 or 2004 WSOP I would have to say that I enjoy watching Dan Harrington the least. He is just an old guy who plays super conservatively and doesn't make any moves that require heart or finesse. I half-jokingly asked Lukas if his book has more than 5 chapters dedicated to the art of folding. He didn't find my comment funny. I suppose you can respect the guy for winning, but I wouldn't want to play his game. Anyway, Lukas thinks he is straight gangsta (I know because when he first opened Dan's book he danced around the apartment pointing at the picture on the cover shouting “He's Gangsta! Straight Gangsta!”). There are plenty of superstar players who win a lot, I'm not totally sure why he idolizes the least interesting among them.

So I finally got around to registering my own domain name. It seems pretty stupid for me to have a career in web development but not even have a real website. That will soon come to an end. Big ups to our friend Steve Z. who has a webhosting company that you might be interested in. I can't say he offers the lowest prices out there, but his servers are hella dependable and, let's be honest, he was one of the few other computer science majors at NU that I could respect. I am slowly building the site each day and will hopefully have something respectable by week's end. It seems pretty stupid to have a livejournal as well as regularly updated personal site so I am going to make a compromise. I will continue to use this journal as a place for ramblings and regular posts. My website will be more of a repository for the things that don't work very well inside a journal: Pictures, links, and attachments and more. We'll see how it goes.

Now that I have a website where I can host pictures I think it would be good to actually take pictures. The main problem with this is that I don't have a camera that I can really use very much. I have a bigass digital camera that my dad bought me for graduation. The camera is pretty decent but it has a telephoto lens and weighs like 2 pounds. I have to carry it on a strap around my neck, which means the only time I ever use it is if I really have my heart set on taking pictures. You all know me well enough to understand that if something isnt immediately convenient I generally won't use it. With that in mind I decided to buy myself a “Congrats on the new job” present, and with some help from Tim I ordered my new camera. Hopefully I will carry it more often and take some sweetass pictures to put on my sweetass website.

Today is my second to last day of work and things are going well. They took me out to lunch yesterday at OCB which was pretty awesome. Brian took it upon himself to make a toast. It was awkward but thankfully short. I got the distinct impression, as I do with so many of Brian's actions, that the toast was more for the benefit of the company's president than myself. Brian is nothing if not consistent in siezing every opportunity to kiss a little ass. Overall, I am leaving here on a good note. Brian has decided to completely ignore the email I wrote on Monday and we are both playing nice. He has come to realize that I actually did finish the things he wanted and there isn't much cause for either of us to be bitter. I played it classy and even brought Brian a present this morning: a divx copy of RAD on cd. The latest issue of Nintendo Power has a feature on Killer 7, just seeing it on my desk makes me happy.

Nobody Cares Yet.
